Book on Tape turns a family’s bookshelf into a private listening library. An adult adds a book, records the narration, and marks page turns. A child can then choose the cover and listen independently.
Quick help
The app cannot record
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and allow Book on Tape to use the microphone.
The camera does not work
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and allow access. You can also enter the ISBN and book details manually.
The library is not syncing
Confirm that the device is signed in to iCloud and that iCloud Drive is enabled. Then open the adult-only Settings area and choose Sync Now.
I cannot change a book
Adult actions are protected with Face ID or Touch ID. Tap the add or editing control and complete the biometric check.
I deleted a book by mistake
Open the adult-only Settings area and choose Recently Deleted. Books remain recoverable for 30 days.
How do I share a library?
Open the adult-only Settings area and choose Invite or Manage People. Sharing requires iCloud.
